Information we collect

When you use GD in Discord, we may receive information from Discord that is needed to run the community and bot features. This can include Discord user IDs, usernames, display names, avatars, server IDs, channel IDs, role IDs, and membership status.

For ranking, marketplace, challenge, moderation, and command features, we may process content you intentionally provide to the bot or in GD server workflows, including command inputs, design challenge submissions, marketplace listings, applications, reviews, reports, and support messages.

We may also collect basic technical data such as timestamps, command usage, bot responses, error logs, and audit logs used to keep the service secure and working correctly.

How we use information

We use information to provide GD features, including member verification, rankings, marketplace listings, job applications, reviews, challenges, moderation tools, support, abuse prevention, and community safety.

Message content is only accessed where needed for user-requested bot features, moderation/report workflows, marketplace workflows, or support. We do not sell personal information.

We do not use message content to train machine learning or AI models.

Discord privileged intents

GD may use the Server Members Intent to verify community membership, assign or check roles, power ranking and marketplace eligibility, and support moderation/safety workflows.

GD may use the Message Content Intent where commands, marketplace workflows, challenge submissions, reports, or moderation features require reading user-provided text in Discord. We limit this access to the features that need it.

Storage and retention

Some information may be stored outside Discord in secure application databases and logs so the bot can remember rankings, marketplace listings, reviews, challenge participation, reports, moderation state, configuration, and support history.

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, protect the community, comply with platform requirements, resolve disputes, and maintain security. We delete or anonymize data when it is no longer needed where practical.

Sharing

We may share limited information with Discord, hosting providers, database providers, analytics/error-monitoring providers, and trusted service providers needed to operate GD. We do not sell user data.

Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to enforce our rules, to investigate abuse, or to protect users, the GD community, Discord, or our systems.

User choices and opt-out

You can avoid most bot processing by not using GD bot commands or marketplace/challenge workflows. You can also leave the GD Discord server to stop future member-related processing.

Some safety, moderation, anti-abuse, and audit records may be retained even after opt-out where needed to protect the community or comply with platform requirements.

To request access, correction, or deletion of your data, contact GD staff in the Discord server or email us using the contact information below. Include your Discord user ID so we can locate the relevant records.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect stored information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we limit access to people and systems that need it to operate GD.

Children

GD is intended for Discord users who meet Discord's minimum age requirements. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age allowed by Discord or local law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as GD changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last-updated date.
